Our first stop in Europe was Berlin. I had heard some stories about the hotel rooms and how they were different from those in the US so I was a bit apprehensive until we pulled up to the Kempinski. This beautiful, formal hotel rivaled any in the states. Even better, the staff was beyond friendly offering suggestions, help and even umbrellas when the weather turned bad. The room was smaller yet extremely clean and comfortable. The fluffy beds were the highlight of the room.
By far one of the best features of the hotel was the extensive breakfast. This resembled a gourmet buffet and included assorted breads, meats, cheeses, fruit, juices, sausage, and pastry. If none of that sounded good to you, they would make eggs to order including omelets. After three days of this treatment we were spoiled and were very sad to leave.
